Provide a little introduction about yourself, where are you from?

Konnichiwassup, friends! My name is Lawrence and I am from Chinatown, NY. I graduated from Cornell University, my dream school, with a B.S. in Animal Science and a minor in Business with the intent of becoming a veterinarian. However, y’all know how life be workin’ in mysterious ways and now I’m here!

What are your hobbies?

I am an amateur powerlifter in the 83 kg weight class with the current goal of being invited to compete for Team USA at IPF Worlds. For my program, I go to the gym five times a week for at least two hours each day, so if I’m not studying at Kapoor, eating, or sleeping, you know where to find me.

I am a big fan of Anime, photography, and Trading Card Games, especially my childhood big three: Magic: the Gathering, Pokémon, and old school Yu-Gi-Oh! I am a F2P Hearthstone legend player and have been playing since launch, but not so much after the start of P1 year. 😭

I love having deep, meaningful conversations, so feel free to ask me any question, no matter how personal or existential, and I’ll serenade you with my life story. I also like talking about comic book lore, male fashion, and sneakers (obvious sneakerhead here).

When I’m back in the city, I enjoy reconnecting with old friends, watching movies, exploring new restaurants, and cycling along the Hudson and East Rivers during sunrise and sunset.

Where do you hope to be after you are finished with pharmacy school?

I am still unsure of what career area I want to pursue, but my current dream as of now is to start my own businesses including a pharmacy, a gym, a fast casual restaurant, and a BOUGIE restaurant, all in New York City of course. The DREAM DREAM would be to have all of them become chains.

What did you accomplish at the end of your P1 year?

I was elected P1 Liaison for Signa, ran uncontested as Course Coordinator, joined LKS, and made a lot of wonderful new friends! FeelsAmazingMan

One piece of advice that you would give to someone preparing for pharmacy school.

Stop comparing yourself to everyone else and their achievements because this is YOUR life to live, not theirs. You are your own individual and your life is about breaking your own limits and outgrowing yourself to live YOUR best life. You are not in competition with anyone else but yourself. Also, remember to live in the moment and cherish the relationships that you build with those around you because it is through these relationships that make life worth living.
